On May 19, 2025, a container of much-needed food assistance sent through the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Cuba was received in Havana as part of the Order of Malta’s humanitarian mission. The shipment was made possible through international donations supporting charitable service across the island.
After arrival, the goods were unloaded and organized so that each recipient could collect their allocation. The shipment included varied food items, with special emphasis on powdered milk and protein items, which are priority resources for many charitable programs, along with other essential staples. The Embassy team worked with local partners to receive, sort, and organize the donated goods, supporting orderly handling and appropriate planning for distribution.
Local coordination was led by a team based in Havana, working closely with Church partners at multiple levels, from diocesan leadership and their teams to parish-level collaborators who sustain charitable works locally. The goods from this delivery were allocated to support charitable assistance across all dioceses of the island, strengthening continuity of service through established pastoral and community works serving vulnerable communities.
The Embassy reaffirms its commitment to humanitarian service in close collaboration with the Church and expresses sincere gratitude to all benefactors, volunteers, and collaborators who make this assistance possible.
