Humanitarian food delivery received in Santiago de Cuba supports the eastern dioceses and Camagüey

In August 2025, the Sovereign Order of Malta supported the reception of a humanitarian delivery in Santiago de Cuba. The delivery supported assistance to people in need through charitable works serving vulnerable communities. It was made possible through the Embassy’s efforts, with the support of benefactors in Europe.

The shipment included a variety of food items, with special emphasis on powdered milk and protein items, along with other essential staples used in many charitable programs. The goods were allocated for dioceses in the eastern region of the island and for Camagüey. They supported points of service that the Order of Malta has accompanied for years, including comedores and casas de abuelos, as well as other Church-led works serving those in need.

The Embassy traveled to Santiago de Cuba to accompany the distribution and to support local coordination. This visit provided firsthand confirmation that the shipment was received and allocated as intended through established charitable works.

Coordination in Santiago de Cuba was carried out directly with the Archbishop’s team, with continued support and follow-up through communication with the Havana-based team. The Embassy expresses sincere gratitude to all collaborators who make this humanitarian assistance possible.
