In May 2025, Antonio Acosta-Rua, Counsellor to the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Cuba, held a working meeting with the Archdiocese of Havana and was received by Cardinal Juan de la Caridad García Rodríguez, Archbishop of Havana, as part of continued collaboration with the local Church.

The meeting focused on strengthening practical coordination in support of charitable and pastoral works serving people in need, including initiatives that accompany vulnerable communities through established services. The exchange also provided an opportunity to review current priorities and to reinforce direct communication to support continued follow-up.

The Embassy expresses its gratitude for the collaboration of the Archdiocese and reiterates its commitment to sustained humanitarian service in Cuba, in close cooperation with Church partners.
