The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Cuba, under the leadership of Ambassador Silvano Pedrollo, coordinated the delivery of a container with approximately 22,000 kg of essential food supplies. The shipment included rice, tuna, powdered milk, canned meat, soups, and other basic goods. Ambassador Pedrollo was responsible for organizing this valuable contribution.
The logistics and coordination of the shipment were led by Salvador Miguel Porcaro, Second Counsellor of the Embassy, who managed the entire process to ensure the aid reached its destination efficiently and securely.
The humanitarian aid was distributed for the Archdiocese of Havana, in coordination with the Cuban Association of the Order of Malta.
Local coordinators —Alina Pérez, Rolando Suárez, and Jeanett Díaz— managed the parish-level logistics, tailoring distributions to the monthly needs of each community.
A total of 1,863 individuals —including elderly people, families, and vulnerable children— benefited from this effort. The aid reached 35 parish service points, 6 daycare centers, 16 soup kitchens, 7 nursing homes, and 2 senior care homes.
Antonio Acosta-Rua, First Counsellor of the Embassy of the Order of Malta in Cuba, was present during the delivery and actively assisted with the unloading and distribution of the food supplies.
