The President of the Republic of Cuba, H.E. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received today the letters of credential and recall of his predecessor from H.E. Justin Sterling Simpson, the new Ambassador from the Sovereign Order of Malta to Cuba.

Attending the ceremony was Cuban Foreign Minister H.E. Bruno Rodríguez, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Simpson conveyed to the President a greeting from the Lieutenant of the Grand Master of the Order of Malta, H.E. Fra’ John Dunlap, and the willingness of the Order to find ways to expand its work with the Cuban people, particularly the elderly. The President recognized and thanked the Order for its contributions, and expressed the hope that Cuba and the Order of Malta would find more ways to cooperate for the benefit of the Cuban people.
